The term "caddie" originates from the 17th-century French word *le cadet*, meaning "the younger" or "youngest son." In Scotland, the word later evolved to describe a messenger or errand boy and eventually came to designate the person who carried a golfer's clubs.
Initially, caddies were often local boys or men hired to carry equipment and assist players. During the 19th century, as golf grew in popularity in Scotland, the role developed into a more specialized profession in which knowledge of the course, strategy, and the game itself became increasingly important.
Andrew Dickson is considered the first named caddie in history. As a young man, he worked as a forecaddie for the Duke of York during rounds played at Leith Links in the winter of 1681–1682. Dickson later became a prominent golf club maker and thus holds a special place in the history of golf. Contact: info@caddiebyjohan.com

PGA OF SWEDEN
ABOUT ME
Golf has been an integral part of my life since I was ten years old.
Over the years, I have spent countless hours on golf courses across
Sweden, where my interest has gradually evolved from the game itself
to the many factors that contribute to high-level performance. I have
been particularly fascinated by the role of the caddie, which led me
to train as a professional caddie through the PGA of Sweden. This
training provided me with the knowledge and tools needed to offer
expert support tailored to each player's specific needs, goals, and
level of ambition.
In my professional life, I work for the Swedish Police
Authority, where handling responsibility and making well-founded
decisions under pressure are routine aspects of the job. Golf
provides me with balance and a way to recharge, while also continuing
to challenge and help me grow. My home club is located in the
Gothenburg region. I am available for assignments in Sweden, the
Nordic countries, Europe, Asia, and the rest of the world, including
the USA.
I have experience working on the DP World Tour, Ladies
European Tour, LETAS, and EGA circuits. I look forward to the
opportunity to contribute to your experience and performance on the
course. Together, we can set new goals and achieve success.

professional caddie brings not only knowledge of strategy and course
management but also support, structure, and a sense of calm that
helps you perform when it matters most.
I would love to hear more about your goals and ambitions in golf.
Together, we can create the ideal conditions to develop your game and
take the next step. Contact me, and I will explain how I can help you
reach your full potential on the golf course.
My
mission is to provide you with the best possible conditions to
perform at your peak. As your caddie, I offer well considered,
professional support throughout the round, from strategic decisions
to the finer details that can determine the outcome.
I assist with course strategy and game plans, measure and verify
distances, analyze wind conditions, locate shots, and ensure your
equipment is in top condition by keeping clubs and grips clean and
dry. I also help read putts and serve as a source of mental support
and a sounding board when the pressure is on.
Together, we form a team focused on creating a sense of
confidence, providing the right information for decision making, and

characterized by enjoyment, dedication, and a shared drive to achieve
strong performances and excellent results.
